Second Rate someone else or #1 Best You?

Father God, Yahweh, Jehovah-Jireh,

I give thanks and praise to you for all you are doing in and through me.  My heart is filled with peace, joy and anticipation for what you have for me today.  With the authority, you have given to me, I speak to my eyes to be open to see, my ears that they may hear, my heart that it may receive and my mind to understand the insight you have for me today.  Thank you for your loving faithfulness.  In Yahweh, Jehovah-Jireh’s name, I pray.  Amen.

As I was studying today, I was re-reading Philippians 1.  This whole book is good; however today I want to focus on verses 9 and 10.

Philippians 1:9-10 (NKJV)

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,
As I was reading this, the words “knowledge”, “discernment”, “sincere” and “offense” stood out to me.  I was in a recent group discussion regarding people being drawn to specific people in a group despite whether they were the appointed leader of the group or not.  It was interesting to hear the wide spread feelings that this type of situation brought up.
  • ·         Relieved that they were not the focal person
  • ·         Supportive and encouraging to those seeking and the one they were drawn to, leader or not
  • ·         Hurt they were not drawn to them even though they didn’t want the leadership responsibility
  • ·         Wanted the leadership role and were hurt because the people weren’t drawn to them
  • ·         The appointed leader and focused on giving their best in fulfilling their position
  • ·         Putting themselves down because they were not the one people were coming too

It was very enlightening the different perspectives that could be taken in just this one scenario.  Each one a different mindset.  It is so important that we take charge and control the thoughts of our mind and choose wisely.

We are all on the same Kingdom building team.  We are NOT in competition with each other IF we are on the same team.  We were created out of love to love and worship our Creator so that our life testimony would draw others to know and Love Him too.

It’s just like when playing basketball.  You have an area that is yours to play and defend.  The people that are brought in to your area are yours to care for, to run “offense or defense plays” depending on the circumstance.    It is our responsibility as a member of the team to be encouraging and supporting our teammates in their position.  When the “ball” is in our court and zone, then we are to be focused on taking control over the area/zone we have been placed in.  We cannot, as one person, be the whole team and cover the entire court and all the players.  When we try to play someone else’s position, we get in the way and come up second best.  Meanwhile, our given position is left exposed and comes up a complete loss.  However, if we know our position and focus on playing it well, then when the ball is not in our zone, we can be supporting our teammates by cheering them on, encouraging them, giving heads up warnings to help them, resting and renewing ourselves for when the action is in our zone, as well as accessing the overall situation and aiding in an overall win.

Such is the same in our lives and ministries.  We cannot physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually do it ALL on our own.  Kingdom building takes a team which starts with Christ in us.  As a team, we are called to support, encourage, and hold accountable others on the Kingdom building team.  There are only two teams.  God’s team and Satan’s team.  When you are not playing your best for God’s team then there’s only the other team to benefit and prosper from your efforts or lack of efforts.  When we see someone else shining in being their best “them” in the position they are in … It’s the time to be encouraging and supportive of them.   It is not a time to become jealous of them or try to run interference and replace them.  That’s the enemy’s tactic to try to bring confusion.  When you compare, and try to be someone else, you will always be a second rate them.  However, you will always be the best and #1 you when you are focused on what you are called to be/do.  And when you are a team player and edify others on your team when the “ball” is in their court … everyone wins.

When you find yourself tempted to compare, yearning to be in the position that someone else is in … Take NO OFFENSE (annoyance, anger, resentment, jealousy, irritation, etc) ... get your eyes back on God and focus on what He has put the desires in your heart and called you to do.  No one purposefully strives and invests times and energy into being second rate … unless they are lost in knowing who and what they are.  Put your time and energy in to KNOWING and BEING the best “YOU”, you can BE.  No one else can be a better you than ... YOU!

Today I challenge you:
  •  What are you called to do?  What are the desires that God created in your heart?  Are you keeping your focus, energy and time invested in being the best YOU He created you to be?
  •  Who have you been blessed with to link arms with, to help support and encourage them in their God created and purposed position?  Are you a help or a hindrance?

I leave you pondering these things in your own life.  May you be filled with a Christ perspective and energized to know and see yourself as God created you and to be the #1 YOU that only you can be.
It is written that we shall OVER come by the Blood of the Lamb and the Words of our testimony.  The Blood of the Lamb has already been shed.  It’s the Words of our testimony that we are living today and responsible for.  So … what’s the WORDS of your testimony?  We welcome comments on how you are an OVERcomer and a DOer.

Ultimate blessings!
It is our desire for you to KNOW God, to share His Word with you but also to share our lives with you in love.  We welcome getting to know you and to be able to love you where you are.  We are honored to support you on your journey to get from where you are to where you want to be.

Life Lessons from the Hall of Fame

We are currently studying the Hebrews 11 Hall of Famers.  I mean, if their lives were lived in such a way as to make it into the Hebrews 11 Hall of Fame … why wouldn’t we study how and why they received such a high accommodation.  Obviously, there’s information there for us to take note of …and they received this recognition living in a time without electricity, cell phones, google, etc.  Yip, there’s definitely some insight here that we can apply to our lives and as some say … take to the bank.

Amen.

Today is a ponder day on all that we’ve been reading and learning …

Go check out Hebrews 11 when you’ve read this.  I hope to whet your desire to go read, study and learn for yourself from these great heroes.  See who made it into the Hall of Fame and then look at the accounts of their lives.  We’d be here for a while if I were to go through all of them plus it’s like reading the end of a great book first … so I bless you on your time of following the Hall of Famers lives in the Bible.

Here’s some glimpses of some of their character that encouraged and prompted accountability:
Noah – Okay, so we think we have it rough … There were no others found righteous on the earth besides Noah and his family.  First off, as a parent, I must say, that’s some stellar parenting.  The world was so corrupt God wiped it clean like a white erase board … all except Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives.  Definitely not an easy feat to rise about flesh and not settle for life like everyone else is living.  Talk about instilling very well founded morals and respect in himself as well as his family.  The rest of the world thought they were “freaks”.  Not hard to imagine the ridicule and jokes they were the butt of … and the people then were in even worse shape than the world now.  WoW!  Then besides living such an extreme lifestyle … Noah gets this idea to build this thing with very specific measurements.  Something that’s never been done before (the ark) to prepare for something that’s never been seen before (the rain/flood)? Oh yeah, talk about throwing fuel on the fire of mocking and ridicule.  And yet they still stood firm.  If any of you have built a house or planned something with more than one person … you’re probably aware of everyone wanting their input, their desires implemented, etc.  Noah stood firm on following the exact measurement and material type.  He didn’t try to cut corners or put his own personal tweaks to the design.  (Yikes … going to have to check myself as when I am given a recipe I often start tweaking it from the get go instead of fixing it exactly as it was given to me … hmmm.)  It boils down to, Noah knew God and didn’t settle for less than what God said.  He knew if God said it, he could count on it with his very life as being so.  Oh, there’s so much more insight in Noah’s life for us go look deeper and see what’s there to help you through your now.

Take Abraham, another Hebrews Hall of Famer.  How many of us sang the song Father Abraham when growing up doing those energy depleting actions to help get us settled to hear and receive whatever the teachers had for us.  Did we even know or understand what or who we were singing about?  His life is filled with Hall of Fame notations that give us much beneficial information to apply in our lives today.  He was human and made mistakes but He trusted God with his life … all of it, not just a section.  Accountability check … do we trust God with ALL areas of our lives or do we hold back and think we can do or handle something better than Him or we don’t want to bother Him with some “little thing”.  Yeah right.  Okay, faith check and stretch on that accountability moment.  There’s so much to learn and apply to help raise my life up to new levels from studying Abraham’s life.

Shoot, I’m remembering back to when my husband and I were praying for a child for two years.  Oh, my heart desires and talks with God during that season of waiting.  Looks a bit humorous when I look at Abraham who stood on God’s promise that he would have a son and not knowing when acted daily expecting God’s promise to be fulfilled.  Even well after he and his wife passed their child bearing prime and essentially everything was dried up and done for by the world’s standards.  He held true for 25 years, faith walking and believing that what God said would happen.  Yes, they were human and got their Ishmael by taking matters in to their own hands.  Like how many Ishmael situations do we have in our walk? No need to count, just repent and move on.  God already has.  Even then, God stayed true to His promise and after 25 years of believing (well beyond their fertile days) and gave them a son.  Whew … I thought two years was long.  Boy, have I got a lot of growing to do!  How exciting to have examples/mentors to follow and live up too.  Society is in such a NOW mode.
Wow, this is obviously an accountability day for me.  I need to go back and see what God has directed for me that I have not held onto and focused as Abraham to the moment of fulfillment.  Honestly, it’s kind of exciting!  Okay, so I’m not even going to dive in to all the other fine examples we should learn from Abraham (like going to sacrifice son with the confidence of knowing God promised descendants and understanding that sacrificing his only son was a bit detrimental to such yet the confidence that God had a plan and he was going to walk in it.  Yikes!!! How many times have I let my limited knowledge and experience step in and “fix” a situation.  Looks like I’ve got some accountability time and repenting to do here too.  Don’t worry if you don’t see or hear from me for a while!  LOL)

Okay, so I could go on down the list of Hall of Famers … hopefully you get what I’m talking about in diving in and examining the lives of these people and apply what’s laid on your heart to your life.  However, we must get to today’s Ponder Point.

For those that know me, this will not be a surprise ponder point at all.  Especially those that we’ve gotten to celebrate in our ministry home.  So now to my Ponder Point:  Birthdays.
We celebrate birthdays of children to acknowledge the accomplishments of the year.  To mark a milestone.  My mom always made birthdays a special day for the person.  To honor and reflect on what all we’d accomplished in the past year and to look forward to the coming year with hope and expectation of what we’d accomplish.  Yip, you guessed it, I do too.  Honestly, I haven’t researched example of “birthday” parties in the Bible.  However, I have noted celebrations of milestones or special events that were marked with a pillar of stones or in other ways to help remind them.  A prompter of accountability.

Under the world’s influence or influence of the flesh, today birthdays of children tend to appear in many cases to feed the lusty cries of flesh and give me, I deserve, entitlement spirit.  Many adults at some point seem to just stop celebrating them all together and treat it as just another day.  As those that have been a part of our ministry and in our ministry homes, you know we celebrate your special day because you are worthy to reflect and mark all that you have accomplished in the past and to seek and look forward to what God is going to do in and through you in the coming year.  An opportunity to speak life into you and your spirit within.   I have always seen it from a perspective of the person not feeling worthy or valuable enough to celebrate the day they were placed on this earth with a purposed mission.  In class this week I was blessed with an ah ha moment and thus me ponder point …
Do we NOT celebrate our birthdays because we don’t want to be held accountable of looking to see what has been accomplished in and through our lives over the past year?  Are we ashamed of standing accountable to ourselves (forget others) of how we have spent our time, energy, finances?

I mean, if we don’t look then we don’t have to acknowledge whether we are sticking true to who we are, our dreams, goals, focus.  As long as we stay in constant motion doing something – playing games on our phones or computers, constantly prepping, running in circles, moving piles from one place to another then back again – then it is easy to “feel” productive as long as we are not checking the “fruits” of our busyness.

OUCH! OUCH! OUCH! I’ve already been being stirred to look at why I am doing what I am doing.  Questioning if it is truly beneficial or just busy work.  Assessing if it is a step towards my focus or if it is an activity to kill, steal, and destroy my time, energy, finances, relationships, etc.   Talk about stepping it up to the next level of checking to see if I’m truly supposed to be doing each action or step I do.  Some are done out of routine or learned patterns/expectations from others … not because it is a part of who I am created to be and my called purpose.  This puts even more accountability and emphasis on when I’m asked to do something or feel obligated to do something … to make sure I’m in the perspective of seeking that “I am to do it” rather than coming from the perspective of “looking for a reason NOT to do it”.  Our lives are constantly bombarded with “good deeds”, help me, do this, do that, expectations of others, unhealthy self-expectations … a very stealthy way for the enemy to access our lives to kill, steal, and destroy the fruit bearers of our lives.

Ultimately, I’m accountable for my created purpose and produced fruit from the fulfillment of living it out … not helping or doing someone else’s called purpose.  (Even in the world’s standards if you don’t do your job you get fired.)  I want to hear and see in my life the fulfillment of

Matthew 25:21 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’,

I want to be found faithful with a little – so be busy focusing on your own little and run with me as I focus on mine to be found faithful, given much and ULTIMATELY … to “enter into the joy of the Master”.  I sooooo want to bring Him joy as I treasure the experience when the joy comes up from within the depths of my being that happy tears flow while joy and laughter flow forth from my mouth, my eyes, every pore of my being.  I am made in His image thus this experience, which is powerful in my limited being, is magnified in His ultimate being.  This experience of the depths of joy has been manifesting in my life more and more each day.  In sharing with my husband and sons what’s on my heart, I’m so overwhelmed with joy of being faithful with the little that my being just expands with such excitement … I’m often unable to find adequate words to express the joy and the joyful tears just flow … if this is just even a sliver of the Ultimate joy my Master experiences then I’m going to keep on keeping on because its beyond priceless.

So, I leave you pondering these things in your own life.  May you be filled with a Christ perspective and energized to “not settle” and go after the “Ultimate”.  (Dare I even mention another of the Hebrews 11 Hall of Famers that didn’t even settle in death but even made preparation for his bones as he was not settling for less than God’s promise. Go check I out!  Alas I must go be a DOER.)

Ultimate blessings!

It is our desire for you to KNOW God, to share His Word with you but also to share our lives with you in love.  We welcome getting to know you and to be able to love you where you are.  We are honored to support you on your journey to get from where you are to where you want to be.

Thank you for the investment of your time.
May you hear and receive what is yours to hear from the sharing of a portion of my insights.
Be blessed in the Name of the Lord, Yahweh, Jehovah-Jireh.

If your life was just a breath or a shadow ... How would you live it?

Wow … so I know what He has laid on my heart to be my main study for the time being; however, being the outstanding, fun, creative God He is that is so playful … He took me on a pleasant side trail … or bunny trail as I call them.  Bunny trails are good when you get insight, accountability and strengthened through them.

Amen.

Here’s my insight from today …

David wrote:  Psalm 144:4. Man is like a breath; His days are like a passing shadow.

Per Acts 13:22 David was a man after knowing God's heart.  Despite David's flesh and poor choices, God knew him and said that he would accomplish all that He wanted him to do.  Wow, makes you stop and think ... What will God say about me and my life? Does God have the confidence I will lay down my flesh and DO what God wants? (hmm ... God's really been speaking to me on preparing and doing intensely lately.)

Talk about a ponder point for sure!

Talk about perspective shift!

If my life is just a breath (some days it feels longer than others!), then I want ... No, I NEED ... to make sure it smells and tastes great.  That it is found pleasing to God.  I need to make sure my breath counts, that it's not wasted on worldly self.  That it's not wasted on worry or whining or complaining or derogatory or negative spoken authority.  I want my breath of life to impact the Kingdom and be pleasing to the One that matters most.  To leave a rich inheritance.

"My days are like a shadow passing".  Ouch!  Yet another jolting call to accountability.  Shadows are fleeting and temporary.  Unless a brilliant sun is shining on them to burn an impression, they leave no lasting mark.  They can be huge or very tiny to the point of non-existence.  They can provide temporary shade to someone hidden in the shadow ... if and only if it's big enough to even be noticed.

I need to make sure that I am purposefully positioned to have the SON so shining in and through my life that a lasting image of Him in me is burned into the world.  That I'm so centered in the Son light that my shadow is huge and inviting for others to come, be filled with joy and love, to receive, learn and draw closer to God while in my shadow so when my shadow is no longer, theirs’ is boldly, prominently in place with Him for others to continue the process.

"That’s burdensome!", you say.  "No," I say, "It's a yoke that is easy and the burden is light when I'm yoked to God and not the world".  So thankful He carries the weight of the burden and strengthens me as we journey together.

When we are positioned in Son light, the shadow to those who choose to walk in the covering of, is the overflowing of the Son in and through me, drawing them closer to Him.  It's comfort to know when I'm doing and giving my best ... He does all then rest.  Shoot ... He loves me so much He even covers me when I'm not giving my best and picks up my slack so others don't miss out on their blessing.  The only one truly missing out on the blessing is ME!  What Love!

So bold accountability time for me.  With my life being like a breath and my days like a shadow ... Its important I look and purposefully choose how and what I'm doing with my breath and what my shadow is being used for.  If I am hiding under a cover or a lamp shade, then my breath is self-contained and my shadow is not.  So, here's to awareness and freedom to break off all bondages that are keeping me hidden from The Light and constricting my breath.

My breath and my shadow have purpose!

Proverbs 13:22 says a righteous man leaves an inheritance to his children's children.  My life breath and my shadow are my inheritance that I'm leaving for my legacy.

So time to stop allowing the enemy to kill, steal and destroy my breath and shadow.  Time to purposefully choose all I do, say, and believe to make it worthy of passing on in inheritance to my legacy I have been blessed with.

Thank you God for opening my eyes and calling me to accountability through awareness and taking control.  Guide me with your Spirit inside me to take a full, deep breath and cast a gigantic shadow to give you the glory.  It is important that my legacy, who may never meet me in flesh, KNOW You and pass this inheritance down to the end of time.

Your blessings come in the obedience.  In a life of obedience through knowing you, all things are possible with You who strengthens me.  With you there is no lack in any aspect of our lives - physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually.  I believe.  I receive.  So Be It in Jesus' name.  You are my Jehovah- Jireh.

So, what are you choosing to do today?

It is our desire for you to KNOW God, to share His Word with you but also to share our lives with you in love.  We welcome getting to know you and to be able to love you where you are.  We are honored to support you on your journey to get from where you are to where you want to be.

Thank you for the investment of your time.
May you hear and receive what is yours to hear from the sharing of a portion of my insights.
Be blessed in the Name of the Lord, Yahweh, Jehovah-Jireh.

DOING - Preparation for the known and unknown

Father God, Yahweh, Jehovah-Jireh,
I give thanks and praise to you for all you are doing in and through me.  My heart is filled with peace, joy and anticipation for what you have for me today.  With the authority, you have given to me, I speak to my eyes to be open to see, my ears that they may hear, my heart that it may receive and my mind to understand the insight you have for me today.  Thank you for your loving faithfulness.  In Yahweh, Jehovah-Jireh’s name, I pray.  Amen.

Today, I’m led to Luke 23:56:

56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.  (NKJV)

Just before this verse, Jesus had just been crucified on the cross.  The darkness had covered all the earth from about the sixth hour until the ninth hour.  Then the sun was darkened and the vein of the temple was torn in two.  Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit’”.  He then drew His last breath.  This was so powerful that the centurion who saw what had happened, he glorified God by saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man”.  The whole crowd who had come to watch, seeing what had been done, beat their breasts and returned.  All His acquaintances and the women who followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance watching.
Can you feel the power and the impact?  How many times have we watched something happen not fully understanding but feel the power and effect as we depart?  Have you ever been an observer of something dramatic happening to someone you knew – closely or remotely, had a relationship with, loved?

Joseph, a council member, described as a good and just man, from Arimathea (a city of the Jews) who was waiting for the kingdom of God.  He was not in agreement with the decision and deed that had just been done.  He responded by going to Pilate and asking for the body of Jesus.  He took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was carved out of the rock.  He placed Jesus’ body in a tomb that no one had used before.  He did this promptly as his time for Doing was ending with the Sabbath approaching.

The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed His body.  They observed the tomb.  They observed how Jesus’ body was laid.  Then they returned home to prepare spices and fragrant oils to bring back to the tomb on the first day of the week after Sabbath.  They had to respond promptly to be able to return home and DO the work as well as prepare the normal daily needs for the Sabbath before it arrived.

Joseph and these women DID these things after watching such a dramatic deed.  Even if they did not know Jesus personally, it impacted their lives and drove them to action.  They chose not to be a part of the crowd that watched, beat their chest and then returned to where they came from.  Joseph from Arimathea and these women from Galilee chose to DO something.  They chose to come along side and give honor to this man that did miracles they did not understand.  They gave of their time, finances, possible social stigma and energy to remove him from the shame of death and hanging on the cross.  Their actions show they didn’t do it half-heartedly or begrudgingly.  Joseph got a tomb that had never been used before for this man, who in his eyes had been done wrong.  The women didn’t rush home to prepare the burial basics and Sabbath needs knowing all work stopped at sundown.  No, they took the time to go see the tomb and how Jesus’ body was laid out so they could plan and prepare properly.  How they could give their best.  They did not fully comprehend what part their actions were playing in the overall situation; however, they still acted.

How many times in our lives are we used in preparing someone for what is to come?  Do we fully understand or comprehend what we are doing?  How we are being used?  How many times in hindsight, do we regret not having taken the time to do it properly, better?  To have assessed, planned and prepared postured with a more obedient, willing attitude?  Or is your hindsight filled with thanksgiving and joy that you put aside your fleshly desires and gave your best even with not knowing what part your actions would have?

Everything we do has an impact in some way.  It always impacts our own lives as well as others, even those you don’t see or know.  We reap what we sow.  If we are not sowing anything then we have nothing to reap.  If we have nothing to reap then we have nothing to give to help others.  If we have nothing to reap or give then we have anything to sow for ourselves for us to have a continual harvest of reaping and sowing.  If you plant no seeds, then you get nothing back from your time of walking the fields to be able to plant in the future for self or give to help others.  You then shrivel up and cease to exist out of lack.  Lack that is brought on by your own choices and actions.  That also applies to those of us that sow seeds but never go out and harvest them.  A farmer doesn’t sow seeds and walk away.  He watches over, cares for and then reaps the harvest when it is time.  Do you know what you are sowing?  Are you reaping what you sow?

In Joseph from Arimathea and the women from Galilee that followed Jesus’ preparation, they themselves were blessed and ministered too.  They walked with purpose and fulfillment for DOING.  The women were physically and emotionally blessed by the essence of the spices and fragrant oils they were preparing for the burial.  Joseph gained stature and posture from providing a resting place for this man called Jesus whom he believed had been wronged.  In their obedience, they were blessed and lifted to a higher level, emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally.  As they were doing and preparing, God was feeding them through their DOING using the things He had designed for us to use as tools.  I know every time I get to minister to those He brings to me with praying and anointing with oils, I always get blessed and strengthened, even though my purpose and action is not for self but for the leader He has brought to me to be His hands on.  I am constantly humbled by how He uses the essential oils to take the individuals into their own special place that is filled with the essence that they need to feed their spirit within and themselves to be able to step out and up into a new level of life with Him.  The freedom it brings.  The weights lifted off.  The hope.  The Joy.  This from DOING for others, as Holy Spirit leads, using the tools that He has given for His ministry.

So … what are you purposefully DOING in preparation?

Are you DOING it with an attitude of praise and thanksgiving?

Are you DOING your best and letting God do the rest?

For those that would like to experience essential oils and especially those that want more with the Holy Spirit leading the experience, myself and/or one of our Be Healthy His Way team would be honored to come along side and support you on your journey.   You can achieve physical, spiritual, mental and emotional release whether you are a Believer or not … however the synergy effects of salvation, scripture and prayer bring a level of freedom living of its own accord high above all else.

It is our desire for you to KNOW God, to share His Word with you but also to share our lives with you in love.  We love you where you are and are honored to support you on your journey to get to where you want to be.

Thank you for the investment of your time.
May you hear and receive what is yours to hear from the sharing of a portion of my insights.
Be blessed in the Name of the Lord, Yahweh, Jehovah-Jireh.
